  1. Hi Stu – I left a digital recorder today at Scoil (11/15/2011) Are the current tunes (singing and fiddling) up here, but under another link?
    thanks

    1. Hi John,
The last set of tunes/songs I have from Alex/Lori is from March – I’m guessing there are some new ones. Do you know the names? They may well be on the site somewhere, but I’m afraid I don’t know what Scoil is working on…

      1. Connaughtman’s Rambles
I’m trying to back them on guitar up using standard tuning – but have seen some very cool backup on youtube with dadgad tuning – the changes are less frequent, and sound much better:

I will get a book – but is there a link here on the BRMMS site showing the chord forms that kid is using?
thanks – BTW I can’t swing the Tuesday evening class moving ahead.

  2. Hi John, not sure what you’re currently playing, but he’s using a fairly similar approach to what I normally use with a Bm in the B part and then I think he substitutes an F#m for the A (I tend to use a descending scale approach). The D he uses in the A part is just your straight “power D”. But as a general comment, I’m a great believer in simplicity. I think all of these chord formations that he’s using are on the site under the two DADGAD classes (links on right). And I’m happy to show you sometime as well. Sorry to hear you won’t be able to make class going forward – hope to see you around soon in some other context and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
